Following several periods of prayer in the midst of the debate and vote, the report of the Theological Task Force on Peace, Unity and Purity was approved by the General Assembly this afternoon.

Recommendations 1-4 were approved by a vote of 459 for, 41 against and 1 abstention.

The Assembly rejected a minority report on Recommendation 5, 6 and 7 by a vote of 287/234/0 and then rejected a motion to refer Recommendations 5 & 6 (to the presbyteries) by a vote of 281/234/0.  Finally, the Assembly voted to receive and approve the committee’s revision and amendment of Recommendations 5, 6, & 7.
