This Week at 1st Pres.
Wednesday, August 31 – 7PM - Choir Rehearsal resumes!!!! If you can carry a tune or just maybe carry one in a bucket come out and join the choir and make a joy filled noise to the Lord our God!
Sunday, September 4 - 9:30AM – Sunday School!! The Branches Adult Class is beginning its study of spiritual disciplines. Come join us as we learn the practices that can help us as we seek to draw closer to our God.
Monday, September 5 - Labor Day! The church office is closed. We will reopen with our normal winter hours (Mon-Fri, 8AM-Noon) beginning September 6.
Wednesday, September 7 – 6:30PM – The Communicant’s Class meets in the Ergonian Room. 7PM – Choir rehearsal.
Saturday, September 10 - Champ Clark Heritage Day Festival. Our Youth group will be selling luminaries in support of the Relay for Life. Our Saturday evening service will be a little early due to a wedding.
Wednesday, September 14 – Session meets at 6PM. Choir rehearsal at 7PM.
Friday, September 30 – Relay for Life at the Pike County Fairgrounds. We are running the food concession in support of the event. We need donations of foodstuffs and workers. For more information contact Betty Mitchell.
Sunday, October 2 - World Communion/Peacemaking Sunday. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper during worship. All cancer survivors are encouraged to wear their survivor shirts to church.

Upcoming Events 8/7-8/14 and beyond
Here are Just some of the upcoming events at 1st Presbyterian Church.
August 10 – Session meets at 6pm in the library
August 13 – Wedding of Curtis Scherder and Christina Prunty 3:30pm Reception to follow at the K of C in St. Clement. Also we are collecting a Bridal Money basket for Curtis & Christina. If you wish to contribute, please bring you gift to the church office before 8/11.
August 21 – Worship at BG City Park (Upper Pavilion) followed by a carry-in dinner and other fun activities.
August 24 - The first day of School! A day of joy for parents and a time for us all to remember to drive carefully.
August 25 - Missouri Union Presbytery ets at Camp Covenant Point beginnng at 9:30am.
August 27 – The Communicant’s Class will have their first meeting of the year from 10:30am till about 2pm in the Fellowship Hall.
September 4 – The Branches Sunday School Class will begin a study of spiritual disciplines. If you are interested please let Rev. O’Dowd know by 8/28 so sufficient materials can be prepared. Also the Youth Group will meet at 5pm in the Fellowship Hall.

August 21 – Park Day – Worship at Bowling Green City Park followed by a picnic, volleyball. And other fun activities. Come and bring a friend!
August 27 - Communicant’s Class kicks off at 10:30AM in the Fellowship Hall.
