Zechariah 8:7-8 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: I will save my people from the east country and from the west country; and I will bring them to live in Jerusalem. They shall be my people and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness.”
Can you believe that someone, especially God loves you so much? The fact that God loves us more than anything or anyone is almost bizarre. A love we can’t earn or buy. We are His children, but we’re all adopted children.
When Alex came to us, I was overwhelmed with feelings. He was only a week old, was I going to remember how to take care of a new born baby? There were 11 years difference between Todd, our first son and Alex. Like I did with Todd when he was little, at bedtime after his story, Alex and I would play the game how much do you love me? I would always answer I love you more than all the stars in the sky. Alex would answer I love you more than the universe and we would give each other a big hug and kiss. I would then tell him that God loves him more than daddy and I put together. God loves each us so much that He sent His Son to us so that nothing in heaven nor on earth can separate us from the that love.
Remember, when Jesus was asked how much He loves us He stretched His arms out wide and died. But for us it doesn’t stop there, He AROSE!
Heavenly Father, we are a thanksgiving people! We don’t always act like it or show it as we should but because you loved us first you showed us what love is all about. The death and resurrection of your Son, Jesus was done out of love for us. Amen.
