Upcoming Events at 1st Presbyterian Church
Here's just some of the events happening in the nextn few weeks
Saturday, August 27 - 10:30 AM - 2 PM The communicant's class begins. Following this one day gathering we will regularly meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 beginning September 7!
Sunday, August 28 - Step-Up Sunday as the Sunday School Year officially gets under way! Also, Christian Music Concert to benefit the Pike County Relay for Life is CANCELLED!
Sunday, September 4th - The Branches Adult Class begins its exploration of various spiritual disciplines. Please let Rev. O'Dowd know by 8/28 if you plan to attend. A repeat of the class will be offered during the week if there is sufficient interest.
Monday, September 5th - Labor Day! The Church Office is closed. Normal operating hoours resume September 6. They are: 8 AM - Noon, Monday through Friday.
Saturday, September 10th - Heritage Day! Our you will have a booth on the square selling luminairies to support the Relay for Life! This is a great chance to support the youth, remember loved ones, and fight cancer! Later that afternoon, our normal 6 Pm worship service is being moved to 5:30 PM and you need to dress for a wedding if your are coming.
Friday, September 30th -0 Relay for Life! We are again staffing the food concession with all proceeds to benefit the Relay for Life. We need workers, monetary donations, pies, and other help for the night. We encourage all survivors to sign up for the Survivor Walk.
Sunday, October 2nd - World Communion Sunday! We will celebrate the Lord's Supper and receive the Peacemaking Offering. Additionally, we invite cancer survivors to wear their survivor t-shirts from the Relay for Life as we pray for healing and a cure!
